My old school flower animation.

From the archives of 1999: I totally forgot about this.

I totally dig the term “back in the day”, and this trip down memory lane is awesome for me.

So, before the web really kicked off in this country…I was studying multimedia. So we had to do a compulsory graphic design and desk top publishing course before we were allowed to do the sexy stuff…they called it multimedia, which was basically putting together an interactive package to run off a cd. Cd authoring if you like. It was all the rage. Macromedia Director, Photoshop, a sound editing program, and a video editor – Macromedia Premiere I think.

I cant tell you how much I kicked myself for not doing the web course when I went to London shortly after looking for work.

We love your cd, but if only you had some experience with websites.

Websites? WTF are they? Have you seen that cool transition effect on my cd?

Anyway, I digress.

So I was captivated with the whole animation timeline thing in Director. So much so that I couldnt resist drawing animations by hand and scanning them in.

Limited by time and capability of the technology at the time (we had to have incredibly small filesizes to make sure the application played, I came up with this).

It plays really fast the first time you play it for some reason. Just hit replay to see it slower.
