My Seascape Cherry.

So this is my first seascape attempt. I’ve been stopping by the beach on my drive home every day.

It seems silly not to enjoy the sunsets while its warm. My drive home is alongside the beach. A no brainer really.

Here’s a vertical shot of a similar scene. I also included this one mainly because I quite liked the depth of field and the brilliant light off the rock in the foreground.

Hardly any processing was done on the large image because I wanted to try and preserve the softness of the light. With the second vertical photo though, I did some more processing with the colours and made it a little more contrasty – going for a bit more drama as opposed to serenity.

I much prefer the vertical pic. I find the other a bit off balance somehow and think some contrast would be better.

I’m with my Dad … the vertical pic’s composition is much better. Beautiful light.

Ye, the vertical photograph is better, have to agree. The left hand side of the horizontal one goes a little weird :)

Rad! Digging this photo forum vibe. Thanks for the input guys.

I like them both. But I must say that the big hunk of rock on the right of the horizontal shot does create some interest for me. Maybe imbalance, maybe tension – but something interesting.

The rock throws in 2 diagonal lines that meet with the water’s edge leading towards sun. I quite dig the combined 3 diagonals ruffling up the verticals of the horizon, waves and clouds.

Actually 4 diagonals if you count the lines created by the holes in the rock :)

Stunning. A photograph that captured the beauty of our world we live in.
